Sound is the theme at Art Conspiracy‘s RZN8. More than 30 artists are donating works that will be auctioned off. And with bids starting at $20, you have a crack at an affordable piece of art. This year, each piece will somehow involve a speaker.
Which brings us to the music, of which there will be plenty. Datahowler is in the lounge. Kirby Brown, Spookeasy and Home by Hovercraft take the main stage.
There will also be food trucks and signature RZN8 cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. There will be dancing and mayhem.
It’s happening Aug. 25 at a super cool venue: Life in Deep Ellum, 2803 Taylor St. Tickets are $10 at the door, available online too.
RZN8 raises seed money for Art Conspiracy’s big fund-raising event in the fall, which benefits a different arts-related nonprofit org every year. This year’s beneficiary will be announced at RZN8.

August 2, 2012 – DALLAS – Do you hear a cacophony? Art, mayhem, music, melody? It’s the call for Art Conspiracy’s summer event, RZN8.
On Saturday, August 25th, Art Conspiracy presents RZN8 will kick off at 7:00 p.m. at Life in Deep Ellum, 2803 Taylor Street Dallas, Texas 75226. Original, curated speaker-based works from over 30 artists will be auctioned live in a fun, animated, free-for-all format. Art Conspiracy events are designed to be affordable and offer everyone a chance to purchase original artwork with opening bids starting at $20.
Local artist Datahowler’s synth robot rhythms and 8-bit projections will keep the party going in the lounge. Bands Kirby Brown, Spook Easy, and Home By Hovercraft will be propelling your soul toward visual, decibel nirvana on the main stage.
Dallas famous food trucks Nammi and Dough Boys Pizza will be parked outside all night. Black Swan Saloon will serve alcohol, including a signature RZN8 cocktail, and Mokah Coffee Bar will provide non-alcoholic beverages and whip up a green RZN8 specialty drink. And when you’re worn out from buying and dancing, grab some ice cream by La Original Michoacana.
The mission of Art Conspiracy is to inspire Dallas’ art and music scenes to join forces for the benefit of a local nonprofit arts organization. Non-profits with an annual budget of less than $400,000 and that offer creative programming in the form of art or music that gives back to youth, families, and citizens within the Dallas city limits are considered to be chosen as Art Conspiracy’s annual beneficiary.
RZN8’s purpose is to announce this year’s beneficiary and raise the “seed money” to enable Art Conspiracy to put on its major fundraiser in the fall of 2012. Cost is $10 at the door or pre-order tickets: www.prekindle.com/promo/id/22349996750206338.
Art Conspiracy is proud to partner with Art&Seek, which brings coverage of North Texas arts and culture to KERA FM, KERA television, KXT 91.7 FM and to the web at www.artandseek.org.
