In 1978 Eric Idle did a movie called The Rutles – All You Need is Cash. It was a parody of The Beatles. The soundtrack is available on Amazon.

How bout Ladybug Transistor’s cover of “Galveston” I love Gary Olson’s voice and his trumpet playing too. He used to manage Kim’s Music long ago when they had their stores in NYC. Their music is lovely.

“Grizzly Bear” by the Youngbloods from their self-titled first album circa 1967. The song can also be found on the album The Best of The Youngbloods from 1971. It is a song about a popular dance from the 1910’s. The song at first listen reminded me of the Beatles (don’t they all from that time?) but after a second listen, I realized how good the song is and how talented the band was.
