Back in November, Jerome did a radio piece on the Metropolitan Opera‘s live simulcasts at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Well, Booker T. will once again host DISD students Saturday, for the fourth and final broadcast this year from the Met, of Verdi’s La Traviata. The school is the first and only outside New York that hosts these simulcasts.
Of course, the Dallas Opera is also opening La Traviata tonight. And prior to the show Saturday, the 450 students, staff and parents attending will hear from Laurent Naouri, who is making his Dallas Opera debut in the role of Giorgio Germont.
So this seems the perfect time to share a video that Quin Matthews made of the Booker T. program. Enjoy.
