Wow, thanks for the First Aid Kit, unbelievable that they are are a pair of twenty year old sisters from Sverige (Sweden). Great show tonight. Can’t go wrong, as suggested, with the Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, or Cale.

      No worries:

      TEN YEARS AFTER PORTABLE PEOPLE
See them at the airport with their cases in their hand
Got a ten day package in another land
They’re the jet age gypsies with a super-sonic sound
They’re the portable people, and they take themselves around

Portable people, flyin’ in the air
      Portable people, goin’ everywhere
      Por….ta….ble – Peo….ple!

See them at the window with a panoramic view
It’s the only time they’ve noticed that the sky is colored blue
One will have a cloak and a pair of wooden clogs
He liked the avocado, but he didn’t like the vase

Portable people, flyin’ in the air
      Portable people, goin’ everywhere
      Por….ta….ble – Peo….ple!

Okay, my first actual list and not random, multiple entries/requests.

These are some artists/songs I’ve been turned on to recently and enjoy. Thoughts I’d pass them along…..
    1) Sarah Blasko does this pretty cover of Outkast’s “Hey Ya!” (I know….but just take a listen anyway)
    2) Kate Miller-Heifer “Sarah”
    3) Oh Mercy “Stay, Please Stay”
    4) Julia Stone “Let’s Forget All the Things We Say”
    5) Really cute song by Soko called, “Dandy Cowboys”

    Hopefully, these aren’t too girly:-)

Thanks, Paul. Enjoying tonight’s show, as usual.

    • Anonymous

Im kinda girly too, so no prob.
I will check it all out
      thanks so much

  • So this week I heard Tanya Tucker for the first time, I liked “Would You Lay With Me In a Field of Stone” so much I had the YouTube video on repeat through my car audio so I could take breaths and gasp in between each one. So maybe any classic country. I also enjoy hearing Willie Nelson’s cover of that song, and a great version of The Tennessee Waltz (Otis redding, or Norah jones and Bonnie raitt did it as a duet recently), and Who’s Sorry Now (Connie Francis standard but I heard a 1920s jazz orchestra version on YouTube, give me a sec I’ll come back with the name). You totally suckered me into your awesome covers game. xoxo, Liz

      My wife’s request, Paul’s grace.
Kids, donate to KXT when you get a spare quid or so! And request something. Anything!
Perhaps even “Little Red Lights” from “Something, Anything” by Todd Rundgren.

Jimmy Thackery Cool Guitars or Dancing on Broken Glass.
Or The Nighthawks when Jimmy Thackery was still their guitarist.
    The Paladins
Not sure if you can play Cool Guitars. It has the “B” word in it.

5.) Raphael Saadiq – “Good Man” *requested already, but I don’t think you played it*
    6.) anything by Les McCAnn

Coolness. Much of the new and local stuff is a nice change of pace. I enjoyed the Bonobo. OK, I’m thinking of some blasts from my past:
    J Geils Band
    “Wammer Jammer”
or “It Ain’t What You Do (It’s How You Do It)”

And something, anything, by Little Walter.
    It’s a harmonica thing..
