Dallas Author in 'The Paris Review'

by Jerome Weeks 20 Mar 2012 3:13 PM

A highfalutin’ honor for a local horror novelist.

CTA TBD

David Searcy is the Dallas author of Ordinary Horror and Last Things — ‘literary horror’ novels that didn’t seem to have enough explicit gore for the more bloodthirsty horror fans.  Too bad for them. But Searcy continues to write, as evidenced in the Spring issue of The Paris Review. Kudos to him. It’s an essay about custom cars, of all things.

You can read the opening paragraph here, otherwise, you have to buy the issue. Interesting coincidence: Searcy appears in the same issue as an old interview about screenwriting, Part 3, with the late Texas writer Terry Southern.
