You know The Monuments Men as a book written by Dallas’ Robert Edsel. And soon, you’ll know it as a film starring George Clooney.

According to the Los Angeles Times‘ 24 Frames blog, Clooney and his producing partner, Grant Heslov, will turn Edsel’s book into a feature film that Clooney will direct and star in. The book chronicles the heroics of servicemen during World War II who risked life and limb to save precious works of art from destruction.

Edsel was awarded the Texas Medal of the Arts award last year. Clooney says that making The Monuments Men is now the top project on his list.
