January is the killer month for Broadway shows; once the holidays pass, the long, cold drop in business finishes off the weaker draws. In North Texas, we do things differently. January seems to be the month many of our killer art shows pack up and move on.
Caravaggio, Tony Cragg, John Marin and the Buddhist Cave Temples. The Kimbell, the Nasher, the Amon Carter and the Meadows. They all close this Sunday. So if you didn’t get to them over the Christmas break, you’re facing The End of Days — especially for Caravaggio and Friends at the Kimbell. If you wait until Sunday, bring your stilts to see over the crowds.
And then there’s next weekend. That’s when Mark Bradford at the DMA closes.
