ALL IN THE FAMILY: On Tuesday the 25th anniversary tour of Les Misérables visits the Winspear Opera House for a two-week run. The show’s Jean Valjean, J. Mark McVey, has played the role many times. But this production is particularly special because the actress playing Little Cosette is his real-life daughter, Kylie. “I don’t think it can get much better than this,” he tells dallasnews.com. “I consider it an honor to deliver a message of redemption and grace each evening, but now from a human aspect as the father of the child I am performing with, I just can’t even imagine what emotions it’s going to bring forth.”

THE SPREE’S FOODIE: If you go to the Polyphonic Spree’s New Year’s Eve show at the House of Blues and look closely, you might remember seeing a memeber of the band somewhere else. That’s because Jennie Kelley also is a chef who had a long run on the second season of the Fox reality show Master Chef. In an interview about her foodie life, she tells the website mikeyskitchen.com that, “More often than not, if I am recognized it’s for MasterChef. Not so much with the Spree. There’s a lovely level of anonymity that comes from being in a 20-person ensemble!”

ART HISTORY: We’ve followed the work of Robert Edsel around here for a while now. He’s the founder of the Monuments Men Foundation, which is dedicated to the members of the military during WWII who did their best to protect priceless works of art amid the fighting. Occasionally, Edsel’s work leads him to art in his own back yard. That’s the case with the Isabella d’ Este bust at the Kimbell Art Museum.
