Art&Seek Plans Your Week

by Nilufer Arsala 17 Oct 2011 10:42 AM

Up this week are a couple of new festivals, late night at the DMA and Enrique!

CTA TBD

Hello there, and thanks for stopping by! It’s Monday again, so why not kick start your week with a bonanza? Pianist Jeffrey Siegel will play the piano and offer commentary at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. And the bonanza? The show is chalk full of Beethoven. Other notables music performances this week are the UNT Jazz Ensemble, A Tribute to Miles Davis at the Central Branch of  the Fort Worth Library, Bush at the Verizon and my very favorite – the Latin amazingness of  Enrique Iglesias with Pitbull. Anytime you can see the second generation singer and the rapper in one day is a very good day.

There are a couple of new festivals to look out for this week. In Dallas, check out the Knox Street Festival on Saturday, where you can enjoy live music and an interactive art projects (free!). And in Fort Worth, put your dancin’ shoes on for TangoFest! The whole thing is free, and you can learn some dances and watch demonstrations while you’re there.

This Friday is also the third Friday of the month. That means that it’s time again for Late Night at the DMA. There will be special programs, concerts and more. The Crow Collection of Asian Art and The Nasher will also have extended hours and special happenings as well. Even Dallas Theater Center is getting in on the fun with a pay-what-you-can performance of To Kill a Mockingbird.

Remember to click to sign up for the free, weekly Art&Seek e-newsletter. Today I’ll leave you with some Enrique to get your week started off right. I’ll see you next Monday, and remember to get out and have some fun!
