Congratulations to Guy Reynolds of Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest

CTA TBD

Congratulations to Guy Reynolds of Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest! This is Guy’s fifth win in the contest – he last won in December for his photo of the “psychotic dog.” He follows last week’s winner, Randal Dean.

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.

Now here’s more from Guy:

Title of photo: Cheerleaders
Tell us a little about your shot: The picture was made on a typical high school basketball assignment while working for the paper in Baton Rouge in the late 1980s. Back in the days of shooting film and having to get in and get out and back to the office in a hurry, I didn’t usually stay past half time. But for some reason I recall seeing this little girl making like a cheerleader and just continuing to yell even after the game was out of hand. Her father was a janitor at the school. It’s certainly one of my favorite images from my 14 years shooting for newspapers.
