Welcome back from the weekend! We are rounding out September, and that can mean one thing – Oktoberfest. (Beer!) This past weekend, Addison hosted everyone’s favorite German party, but now it’s McKinney’s turn. If you want to get all kinds of international, then swing by the Greek Festival of Dallas and sample authentic Greek food, music and art.
Speaking of art, this week is packed with things for the art lover. We’ve got an Art Party at Texas Discovery Gardens, an Art Walk in Deep Ellum and the return of VideoFest at the Angelika at Mockingbird Station. No worries, Fort Worth – you’ve not been forgotten. This Saturday it’s Free Admission Day in the Fort Worth Cultural District. Many of the museums in the district will have free admission, and performing arts organizations will be showcasing their talents in and around the district also.
If you want to be a little bit more low key, how about a game of chess or an in-store performance at Good Records? Also, if you haven’t checked out In the Next Room, The Vibrators Play, this week is a great one to do that. (Jerome reviewed the play performed by Kitchen Dog Theater, which you can read here.)
Make sure you sign up for the free Art&Seek e-newsletter to stay on top of the arts news in North Texas. Today, I will leave you with this video I had to immediately look up when I realized that Queensryche will be at the House of Blues on Thursday. Enjoy and have a fantastic week!
