Today in the roundup: An update on the Ridglea, touring Fort Worth’s art spots and determining the popularity of pop stars.

CTA TBD

A RIDGLEA UPDATE: Renovations continue on Fort Worth’s Ridglea Theater, which was nearly turned into a bank before Jerry Shults bought it. And now, dfw.com passes along news that could ensure that the theater never faces such a fate – it’s being considered for the National Register of Historic Places. Look for it to reopen early next year.

36 HOURS FORT WORTH: Not that you need an excuse to visit the Fort Worth Cultural District. But if you need a little guidance about how to map out the perfect weekend there, Glasstire hits the highlights in its latest Texas Art Travel feature. There’s some pretty interesting background in there about some of the institutions.

CHARTING THE CHARTS: The Billboard charts are still the most recognizable indications of which artists are selling albums. But with iTunes, music websites and the almighty Cloud, it’s becoming more difficult to figure out exactly who is being heard the most. So you might be interested to read about the measures some companies are taking to try to figure that out.
