32 FOR THE 88: Fort Worth just can’t get enough piano these days. Last week, the Cliburn Foundation held its amateur competition. And this week is the beginning of PianoTexas. The hook for this year’s event is that it features all 32 Beethoven sonatas. The event’s founder and head honcho Tamas Ungar has been making the interview rounds of late. BRING ON THE BARD: This year, both Shakespeare Dallas and the Trinity Shakespeare Festival are producing As You Like It. Which one you decide to see may have less to do with geography and more to do with if you prefer your Shakespeare outside (Dallas) or air-conditioned (Trinity). Whether it’s for the setting or for the performance (or both), TJ Walsh says the shows are doing gangbusters. “We have had international visitors come, some from around the country who will arrange a vacation around it,” the director of As You Like it tells criticalrant.com.”It is fascinating to learn how strong a following Shakespeare has, which may explain why there are a great number of theaters devoted to Shakespeare.”  Trinity also performs MacBeth this year.
