VIDEO: Tim Seelig – from Dallas to San Francisco to 'The Daily Show'

by Jerome Weeks 11 May 2011 11:08 AM

Timothy Seelig, longtime leader of the Turtle Creek Chorale, moved to San Francisco last year to head up that town’s famous Gay Men’s Chorus. But now ‘The Daily Show’ says San Francisco doesn’t rank as the ‘gayest’ city in America. Seelig isnt buying it.

CTA TBD

North Texans certainly remember the ebullient Timothy Seelig as the full-time conductor of the Turtle Creek Chorale for 20 years. Last year, he was hired to lead San Francisco’s famous Gay Men’s Chorus, the oldest one in the world. He officially began January 1st of this year.

But things have changed for San Francisco, as last night’s report on The Daily Show attests. The city is no longer even considered the ‘gayest’ in America. San Francisco is so old-school, it’s like “the Colonial Williamsburg of gay.” Minneapolis is the ‘gayest’ now.

The new director of the Gay Men’s Chorus, as you might imagine, doesn’t buy it. The video clip does contain some “MATURE” material.
