Films featuring a drunk, a wimp and a couple of silver-screen icons make our must-see list.

Arthur – Can Russell Brand play a happy-go-lucky drunk as well as Dudley Moore did in the 1981 original. And just what in the name of Queen Elizabeth is Helen Mirren doing here? Find out tonight. (7:30 p.m., Angelika)

Wuss – This story of a teacher who seeks revenge after being beaten up by his students is directed by Berkner High School graduate Clay Liford. And it’s produced by the team that runs the Texas Theatre. So it’s very local friendly. For more, check out my interview with the film’s creative team. (10:30 p.m., Angelika)

Giant – When Elizabeth Taylor died last month, she joined her Giant co-stars Rock Hudson and James Dean in that big movie theater in the sky. Here’s your chance to see on the big screen why this film is a Texas classic. (6:30 p.m., Texas Theatre)
