Dallas Symphony conductor Jaap van Zweden will receive the Radio 4 Prize in the Netherlands today — the ceremony will be broadcast on the public-service radio network. The Radio 4 Prize is awarded to a musician (or ensemble or institution) who has distinguished himself in bringing classical music to a broad public. In addition to being the chief conductor of Netherlands Symphony Orchestra (1996-2000), van Zweden continues to be the artistic leader of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic.
