You may have heard of the It Gets Better campaign. Since September, there’ve been at least 8 suicides by young people who were, or were identified as, lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered, and were bullied about it. Now those who survived the tough teenage years, including Fort Worth City Councilman Joel Burns, are creating You Tube videos to tell heartbreaking stories of mistreatment, alienation and bullying they endured, how they coped, and how happy they are today that they’re here. The point is to urge young people in crisis that life does get better after high school.
Members of the Turtle Creek Chorale have created this contribution. They share their stories, and excerpts of their recent Concert for Peace in this video.
