Yes, it will include some cultural coverage. Starting next month, those Texans who subscribe to the Times will be getting a ‘sweetener’ of two Lone-Star-focused pages each Friday and Saturday. It’s the latest in the paper’s year-long venture into regional editions (like the ones for Chicago and San Francisco), and it teams up with the Texas Tribune as a ‘content partner’ for the public-policy ‘hard news.’ But TT will also be providing the ‘soft news’ as well:
In addition to Texas Tribune’s public policy reporting, the Times plans to publish some cultural and lifestyles coverage in the new regional pages. Evan Smith, who was a longtime editor of Texas Monthly before becoming editor of Texas Tribune, will commission and edit the additional content separately from his duties at the Tribune.
