Shakespeare Dallas' New Season — Its 40th

The same week that the Dallas Theater Center opens its new season with ‘Henry IV, pt 1 & 2,’ and a week before Shakespeare Dallas presents its autumn offering, ‘Two Gentlemen of Verona,’ the company announces that it will take a step away from the Bard for a change (but not from the 17th century) for its 40th anniversary season.

The same week that the Dallas Theater Center opens its new season with Henry IV, pt 1 & 2, and a week before Shakespeare Dallas presents its autumn offering, Two Gentlemen of Verona, the company announces that it will take a step away from the Bard for a change (but not from the 17th century) for its 40th anniversary season. It will present Edmund Rostand’s classic swashbuckler, Cyrano de Bergerac, next June and July in Samuell-Grand Park, along with As You Like It. And then,  in September and October — Hamlet.

For anyone who has ever been in love, this youthful indulgence is replete with love-smitten (and confused) men, cunning (and disguised) beautiful maidens, and the most likable canine ever to grace the stage. Valentine and Proteus, the two gents in question, prove that Romeo is not the only lad in Verona to feel the raptures of love!
