Congratulations to Ric Martin of Carrollton, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest!

CTA TBD

Congratulations to Ric Martin of Carrollton, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest! This is Ric’s first victory in the contest. He follows last week’s winner, James Neal.

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took previous to the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.

Now here’s more from Ric:

Title of photo: Double Rainbow

Equipment: Nikon D300 and fisheye lens

Tell us more about your photo:

I saw the conditions setting up for this shot during a recent evening rainstorm. The edge of the clouds was to the west, and there was this sliver of sky between the clouds and the horizon. I figured that when the sun peeked out from below the clouds, the conditions might be right for a rainbow to the east. So I camped at this Carrollton park until the sun came out. And to my kids’ delight, a rainbow began to appear. I got out in the rain to take some shots, and a second rainbow appeared above the first. While I didn’t pull a “Yosemitebear freakout,” I was excited to see a doubler and capture the image.

Way to go. I only have one question: What does it mean?
