Video: girlShow Pre-Interview

by Cindy Chaffin 24 Jun 2010 3:33 PM

Yay! Cindy Chaffin is back with this guest video-blog on the girlShow.

Guest blogger Cindy Chaffin is the queen of The Fine Line.

I had the wonderful experience of spending an afternoon with lead producer of girlShow 2010, Deborah Driscoll, along with participating artists Sonya Jevette and Jen Shu chatting about the upcoming girlShow 2010.

This is an ArtLoveMagic production which always means lots of fun, great music, excellent art and a celebration of our creative community.

Celebrating The Creative Sisters of Dallas

ArtLoveMagic proudly announces our largest show of the year- girlShow featuring art, music, poetry, photography, fashion, sculpture and more by Dallas’ most talented female artisans and performers.

July 9th and 10th, 2010

8pm – 12midnight both nights

Life in Deep Ellum,

2803 Taylor Street, Dallas, TX 75226

Like all ArtLoveMagic events, this experience will be live and interactive. Each artist whose work is in the show will be on hand creating LIVE. Audience members will watch work come to life, while musicians and poets entertain on the stage, including special presentations such as an all local Fashion Show, and even Roller Derby. Over 60 total female artists and performers will be present and sharing their talents.

Each night is $10 at the door.  This year we are encouraging our first ever “all-access” girlPass, available for $15 which grants entry to both nights, plus some exclusive perks. girlPass is for sale on our website,

ArtLoveMagic was founded in January of 2007 with the belief that a staggering amount of artistic talent in Dallas was going unrecognized and/or underdeveloped.  We have created more than 50 live experiences, involving over 500 artists and performers. What generally is missing from gallery shows is so obvious that we usually take that lacking for granted – the creators responsible for the artwork. Thankfully, our artists are always present and creating live, which offers a unique opportunity for audiences to learn, co-create, and for perspective clients to inquire about the creative process.
