KXT HAPPENINGS: KXT 91.7 has been a beehive of activity. Chicago’s OK Go stopped by to perform in-studio. Check the video proof. The station has also booked folkster Josh Ritter for Midday Live on June 15. Ten KXT members plus one guest each will be picked to watch the show and have lunch on Buffalo Wild Wings. Interested? Here’s the deets on how to enter. Finally KXT is recruiting for its Street Team. You help KXT by manning a booth at local venues to help spread the gospel of KXT. KXT helps you by getting you into some concerts for free. Sweet deal, no? Sign up here.

CHAOS AT CITY HALL: On Wednesday, a press conference was called at Dallas City Hall. The general thinking was that it was to announce yet another television series would be filming in Dallas – a Fox production called Chaos. Rick Perry even flew in. And then … no word on Chaos. Unfair Park demanded answers as to why a press conference was called that really didn’t say much. Finally, the truth was revealed.

BOOK ‘EM: Mike Merschel and Chris Vognar are blanketing the Book Expo in New York City. And it seems there are plenty of Texas and/or arts stories to be told, including a run in with Stephen Sondheim; a chat with Sharon Anderson Wright, CEO of Dallas-based Half Price Books; and car talk with Ed “Too Tall” Jones. Which celebrity author will they rub elbows with today? Follow along on the Texas Pages blog.

AND DON’T FORGET: Art&Seek is giving away a honey of a package to Fort Worth Opera’s Friday performance of The Elixir of Love. The night includes a pair of orchestra seats, plus dinner at Eddie V’s. To be entered into the drawing, visit our Facebook page and drop us a comment on the Ticket Giveaway post. Not an Art&Seek fan yet? No time like the present.
