A WINDOW INTO SOUTH KOREA: For years, the only way anyone in North Texas was ever going to see a film from South Korea was to either catch it at a festival or drop by one of our art house theaters. But Paul Shin is working to change that. Through his company, JS Media & Entertainment, the Korean immigrant has worked with AMC Theaters to get first-run Korean movies to regularly play in Grapevine. “When you think about films from Asia, it’s either martial arts or an old, traditional film. It’s not really representing the culture very well,” he tells dallasnews.com. “But this is a good opportunity to understand the Asian community.”
