It is wonderful to hear your show!

I have some messages from Richard for you:

    “My Mirage” by The Move

He thanks you for playing “To One in Paradise” by Alan Parsons Project a few weeks ago….it was “off the chain!” “I really enjoyed it.”

    Richard’s latest requests are:

E.L.O. tracks — “Above the Clouds” and ” Believe Me Now”

Thanks, Paul. Love the show! Wish I was in Austin for South by Southwest!

    • well I just bought a bunch of ELO so I could play a track for him a couple weeks ago so hopefully I have those tracks.
glad to know I can bring some sunshine.

  • ok, lets go

  • Mike W

great night in Denton last night, cool to see that many people show up for a music event

    • real proud of my little town and Chris Flemmons
hope we turn all uppity now : )

  • Bob

    Hi Paul,

Have you heard of Shannon McNally? Incredible voice and great song writer. Latest cd is “Coldwater”. “Geronimo” is another one that is really great. Available at CD Baby. She is playing the Sons of Hermann Hall this Sat. 3/20. Thanks for the cool music!

    • thanks for the heads up
      i will get on it

  • Stephen Douglas

Just gave your show a plug to all my Facebook friends.

    Great show so far!

    • danke meine freund

  • Cindy Chaffin

The Flaming Lips to Jerry Lee Lewis to Dave Brubeck…can it get any better? No. No, it can’t…or can it?…..

  • Karen

Another great band from Fort Worth that I’d love to hear “Soulever Lift” and from Denton, “Snarky Puppy”. Both group share an awsome gutarist Mark Letteri.

  • Gretchen

    Hey Paul,

Just got back from a two night run with Tea Leaf Green, they played Dallas 3/11 @ Granada, then I followed them to Austin for a Midnight post Citizen Cope Show @ Stubbs at the indoor show…if you haven’t experienced a TLG show, you are missing out! Play Let us Go by Tlg..or anything by them for that matter

    • I shall take this under serious consideration

  • Mike W

“redder shade of neck on a whiter shade of trash”
    Steven Malkmus=greatness

  • Russ

“They Were You” from The Fantasticks.

  • Jim

Great mix as always. Here are a few random suggestions…

Deerhoof – Any song, because they rock.
White Denim – Let’s Talk About It
    Babylon Circus – La Cigarette
    Blitzen Trapper – Furr
    Can – Vitamin C
Rachid Taha – Rock el Casbah
    Teddybears Sthlm – Cobrastyle

    • wicked good list
      this is what I need

  • “Honey Pie” was splendid. Never heard it before. It drew visions of the influences that the Beatles’ may have had on Salim Nourallah and Johnny Lloyd Rollins…

    • wow girl, you gotta listen to the whole white album a hundred times
its like learning the pledge of allegiance
      you just gotta do it

  • B L Zebubba

    Hey J Paul Slavens,

Your playing last week of a Dean Martin song reminds me of the subtle sophistication and perhaps overlooked genius of the long-soldiering H Tim Sorea, particularly the noteworthy “No More, No More” (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00137WRXW/ref=dm_dp_trk7), from their mid-seventies apogee. Musically they occupy that turf somewhere between Mr. Martin and another group whose music you played last week – the Pixies.

If “No More, No More” doesn’t work for you then perhaps the tender vocal stylings on “Draw the Line” will: (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001380HRY/ref=dm_mu_dp_trk1).

So, do you think we’ll be hearing from H Tim Sorea on your show in the coming weeks, J Paul Slavens?

    • perhaps I will check it out

  • $|_!X

    Hey, Paul!
I heard you play the Hallelujah Courus a few minutes ago. There’s a parody of that song that I really like that was done by a man named Bob Rivers titled “The ‘What’s It To ‘Ya’ Chorus” from the album “I Am Santa Clause” . I just can’t resist singing this chorus every time I hear that. Why don’t you go check that out.

    Gotta go;

  • thanks for the suggestions and comments
    see you all next time

  • Hey Paul, Barry Black, solo project of Eric Bachman, Crooked Fingers, Archers of Loaf, mostly instrumental. Two albums, first is self titled, the second is called “Tragic Animal Stories”. Both on Alias Records.

    Here are the links!

  • Hey psul, can you play Daniel Forrester’s Freedom?

You should play this song in the rain….
    Its Local, brotha.

  • Mati
