ROOM WITH A VIEW: Monday night, Theatre Three opened the Dallas debut of Amy’s View. The play is set in Britain and follows its characters over a 20 year period as they debate a number of societal and cultural questions, including theater itself. In his review on dallasnews.com, Lawson Taitte says the production, “starts a bit rough but keeps getting better and better.” Better than the other way around.

FESTIVAL LINEUPS ANNOUNCED: A pair of theater festivals have announced their lineups. The 14th edition of Teatro Dallas‘ International Theater Festival will include groups from Spain, Mexico and Belgium. It runs Feb. 6-28 at the Latino Cultural Center. More on that here. Also announced is the lineup for WaterTower Theatre‘s Out of the Loop Fringe Festival. That event goes down March 4-14. We reported the highlights back in September, including the extensive appearance of controversial solo performer Mike Daisey. But you can get the complete schedule here.

PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE: One of the best things about reading concert reviews on DC9 at Night is that they still bother to shoot most of the shows they cover. And now they’ve collected some of last year’s best photos in this impressive slide show. Most of them are fairly standard, if expertly captured, pics. But I’d like to know what in the name of Iggy Pop happened here.
