BEHIND THE SCENES: Pegasus Theatre is a little over a week away from launching Death Express! The murder-mystery play takes place aboard a train headed from Los Angeles to New York. To whet your whistle, Phillip Allen, one of producers of Death Express!, has put together this behind the scenes video showing the actors and crew prepping the show. The play opens Dec. 31 at the Eisemann Center.
RING THE BELLS: If you happen to be in Downtown Dallas tonight and see a parade of revelers carrying boomboxes, you’ve stumbled upon Unsilent Night. This is the first year that Dallas will participate in the event, which began in New York nearly 20 years ago. The idea is to create a “sound sculpture” out of a few music clips that participants play on their boomboxes, iPhones or what have you. And it’s not too late to join in. All you have to do is visit the Unsilent Night Web site and download the music clips. Then, just show up downtown tonight with the clip and however you plan on playing it. You can get more details here.
A YEAR ONSTAGE: It’s that time again when everyone is looking back at the year that was. In a fun twist on the tradition, theaterjones.com has asked local theater types to write about the shows they were involved in this year. First up to bat is Katharine Gentsch, who was involved in 10 (10!) shows this year.
