Last week, Masako Fujinami won our little contest with this photo of the Wyly Theatre. And this week’s winner, Wade Griffith, trained his camera on the Wyly’s Arts District neighbor, the Winspear Opera House, for the above photo. Wade’s been on quite a streak – this is his second win of the month, following this excellent series from a few weeks back.
If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took previous to the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves another facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.
Now, here’s more from Wade:
Title of Photo: Winspear Opera House
Equipment: Nikon D90, Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens
Tell us more about your photo: My wife and I took a tour of the Dallas Arts District last Saturday led by the good people at The Dallas Center for Architecture.
It was a great tour with stops at the DMA, Nasher, Meyerson, Winspear and Wyle. We were even able to go inside both of the new venues at the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. We had a blast, and I took this photo along the way. I would suggest that everyone book an upcoming tour to see some of these great new Dallas sites for themselves.
