THEATER BITS: Theatre Arlington has decided to go on without an artistic director. The man who formerly held that job, B.J. Cleveland, tells TheaterJones.com that he will continue to direct for the company but will not hold a salaried position. Todd Hart, formerly of Casa Manana, takes on the role of executive producer. … In other Theatre Arlington news, the company has received $5,000 from Union Pacific in support of ACT UPS. The program combines theater games and acting exercises to help improve the self-esteem, confidence, problem-solving and life skills of inner city at-risk adolescents. … Lawson Taitte says that the touring version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Music Hall at Fair Park, “more than lives up to the standard the Broadway version set in 2005.” … Punch Shaw says the Condensed Shakespeare Festival offers a lot of laughs but has its problems, too.
