MOVING IMAGES: If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words is a video worth? You can ponder that question while watching the above video that Lyric Stage has produced for its production of The King and I, which opens tonight. The video gives a good sense of what audiences are in for in this world premiere of a restored Broadway orchestration of the show – namely 35 musicians and a cast of 50 performers.

SNEAK PEEK: It used to be that August was the summer dumping ground for movies, but in the last few years, several quality films have been released in the hottest month of the year. Julie & Julia looks like one of those movies. It stars Meryl Streep as Julia Child and is based on a writer’s memoir, in which she attempts to make all of the famed chef’s recipes over the course of a year. It doesn’t come out until Aug. 7, but DFW.com has got the jump on it with a preview screening on July 23. Click here for details on how to win tickets.

COULD CLIBURN BE NEXT?: Congratulations to Sahun Hong, the winner of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s  Young Artists’ Concerto Competition. The 15-year-old is like the Doogie Howser of piano, as he is already a senior at TCU majoring in piano performance. Sahun wowed the judges with his performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concert No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37. As the winner, he gets to perform with the FWSO in September.
