Here is Tuesday’s schedule for the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. All performances are in Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Commerce in downtown Fort Worth.
Matinee Session
1 p.m.: Amy Yang of the United States and China will play Bach’s French Overture in B minor, BWV 831, and Schumann’s Davidsbundlertanze, Opus 6.
2:05 p.m.: Yoonjung Han of Korea will play Haydn’s Sonata in E-flat, Hob. XVI:52, Chopin’s Fantasy in F minor, Opus 49, and “El amor y la muerte” from Granados’ Goyescas.
3:10 p.m.: Kyu Yeon Kim of Korea will play Haydn’s Sonata in C, Hob. XVI:48, Schumann’s Kreisleriana, Opus 16, and Bartok’s Three Etudes, Opus 18.
Evening Session
7:30 p.m.: Yeol Eum Son of Korea will play Haydn’s Sonata in C, Hob. XVI:48, Schumann’s Fantasiestucke, Opus 12, and Liszt’s Spanish Rhapsody.
8:35 p.m.: Mayumi Sakamoto of Japan will play Bach’s Toccata in E minor, BWV 914, Mendelssohn’s Variations serieuses, Opus 54, and Rachmaninoff’s Moments musicaux, Opus 16.
Announcement of Semifinalists
At the conclusion of Sakamoto’s recital, the judges will meet to choose 12 semifinalists. After they reach a decision, the results will be announced in the hall.
