AUSTIN – Thanks to all who have kept up with the reporting April and I have done from SXSW the last couple of days. I’m about to make that long, boring trip up I-35 home, but before I hit the road I thought I would leave you with some of the funnier quotes I’ve heard at Film and Interactive events.

“The good thing is, you have a body of work to refer t0. The bad news is, you have a body of work to refer to.”

— Austin director Richard Linklater, answering a question about whether or not it is easier to get his movies made now that he is better known.

“We’re going to have a complete re-enactment of last night’s events today on Twitter.”

— A twentysomething guy talking to his friend in line for an Interactive event.

“Do you have anything I could dump some bacon grease into?”

— Actually, this one’s not that weird, considering it was overheard at a bacon-themed Interactive part. But a bacon-themed part? Kinda weird (but delicious).

“I like watching Star Wars, and Darth Vader is a [compound word you’ll never read on this site].”

Observe and Report star Danny McBride, questioning movie studio logic that says main characters have to be likeable.
