Spring is in the air, and The Pin Show is back to showcase local designers for its Spring Show. Last summer’s show was its first event and was a sell out. The Pin Show organizers have upped the ante for next Thursday’s event by holding it at the newly remodeled Union Station and selecting 25 regional designers with collections that are manufactured locally as well, casting the spotlight on local businesses and economy.

Meiling H. Chang is a Dallas based designer who has been getting her line, Meiline, ready as well as preparing for the debut of her menswear line. Meiling took some time to tell us about herself:

“Originally, I come from Taiwan, where I studied fashion design and fine arts in Taiwan. After I graduated, I worked for a fashion company as a designer and then moved to the U.S.A. As a student in North Carolina, I produced and created several fashion shows. I have just moved to the Dallas area several months ago because of my husband’s job. I’ve done couture design for years and then started my own line, Meiline, 4 years ago. My collection sells at Parts & Labor and Moxie-Austin Co-Op in Austin and Make Design and Shop and House of Dang in Dallas. Natural, cultural and art pieces are my inspiration. The collection that I will present at the Pin Show is called “Tribal hippie” for women and “Spring Whisper” for the men.”

Tickets are being sold online for $12 until February 24, at 11:59 p.m. After that, try your luck the day of the show for $18. Last summer’s show sold out. The Pin Show is February 26 at Union Station, 400 South Houston St. in downtown Dallas . Doors open at 7 p.m., and the Runway Event is at 8.
