Jacob Cigainero from the Dallas Theater Center stopped by the Empty Bowls event at the Meyerson this afternoon and reports that there were, in fact, not many empty bowls. The reason: they kept being filled by the likes of Tom Thumb and Paciugo as part of a fundraiser for the North Texas Food Bank. In addition to the food bowls, the event also featured bowls created by local artists that guests purchase for home use. DTC works with the food bank, and Jacob says that they raised $40,000 during the run of A Christmas Carol in December. Good food, take-home art, a good cause – what’s not to like?
