Guest blogger Sarah Jane Semrad is Executive Director of La Reunion TX.
Last week Make Space for Artists: Design a Studio wrapped, and Friday night (that’s tomorrow!) at 7:30 in the Center for Creative Connections the prize money is doled out. In case you missed it – La Reunion TX and Dallas Museum of Art collaborated on a community response design competition to generate ideas for artists’ studio spaces. A series of well-attended workshops and panel discussions ensued. Both the digital and analog “seed” files were inspired by the first-place winner of Make Space for Art – an international architecture program held last year in an effort to design a future campus for artists on the 35 acre La Reunion TX site in Oak Cliff.
The distinguished jurors for Make Space for Artists : Design a Studio are: artist Brad Ford Smith; Corgan Associates Architectural Intern Mara Salas; and the winner of the previous competition Make Space for Art, designer Bang Dang.
For a sneak peak at all 45 entries, go to the C3 flickr page. Thank you to all who participated – in both analog and digital forms. See you tomorrow at the winners announcement!
