Congratulations to Robert H. Nunnally, Jr. of Allen, the winner of our Flickr Photo of the Week contest! Robert is quite the Renaissance man. In addition to his photography, he creates ambient music under the handle Gurdonark. In fact, you can download one of his most recent creations for free here . He follows last week’s winner, David Kozlowski.

If you would like to participate, all you need to do is upload your photo to to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took previous to the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves another facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday and Gini Mascorro will read your name on the air at the end of her daily arts calendar.

Robert H. Nunnally, Jr.
Title of photo: Winter Park
Equipment: A Chinese M6470 4 MP digital camera I picked up in an eBay auction last month for $35 from a Metroplex seller (who kindly helped me when the directions turned out to be in Mandarin).
Tell us more about your photo: I took this photo on the “freezing fog” day which followed our January 2009 ice storm. The scene shown is Bethany Lakes Park, in Allen. I knew the moment I set out to drive in the fog to my Garland law office that this park would frame great images. I detoured to Bethany Lakes and found this picture shimmering in the mist.

The word that comes to mind is: “haunting.” Beautiful shot!

This picture makes me want to cozy up and just watch it from my front window while sipping my hot chocolate. Lovely Bob. And congratulations!
