Tom Sime has a theory: People can see right through him and smell his fear no matter how much he tries to hide it. And he has the evidence to back it up in a funny and touching anecdote on his new blog site, SmellMyFear.com.

The painter-playwright relocated from Dallas to New York last fall to pursue his stage dreams and is already meeting with success, despite his fears. His most recent triumph is a writer-in-residence gig at Bleecker Street Theatre, which includes a nine-play reading series that opened with pop singer Deborah Harry starring.

If you can’t get to New York to see one of his shows, the blog is a good way to keep up with Sime’s adventures. So far, he has posted about a perfume lecture, rude people and bad song medleys.
