The second act of the Dallas Theater Center‘s In the Beginning isn’t a second act in the traditional sense. Rather, it’s a chance for the audience to discuss the stories from the Book of Genesis that the play delves into in the first act. Helping that discussion along is the In the Beginning Advisory Council, a collection of local clergy and other advisers who take the stage and weigh in on what the audience is talking about. Each night, a different member of the council joins the conversation; the night I went during previews, Pastor Perry N. Crenshaw of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship was the guest.
I asked the DTC if they would send me a list of who is appearing each night, thinking ticket buyers might want to check the schedule before buying in order to link up with a speaker they feel might be of interest to them. Keep in mind that this list isn’t set in stone – people’s schedules change, and some of the guests have not been booked just yet for later in the run. But if you are interested in who is on the docket (you’ll notice that the run has been extended a week to Feb. 22 – look for an official announcement on Monday):
