In comparison to its predictable treatment of Big D (see below), the New York Times can be wonderfully whimsical about its own metro area. Christoph Niemann has spent a lot of time in Berlin, playing with his sons and missing New York. The result is a delightful recreation of city sights, both large and small, entirely on a tabletop-and-toy level.

For Dallas, i would suggest a golfball and tee as the Reunion Tower. We could take the tiny top hat that comes as a game piece with the Monopoly game, leave the brim silver colored and paint the rest red: voila, the Winspear Opera House. Arlington would be a Chutes and Ladders gameboard, and I once saw an Art Deco cigarette lighter that reminded me of Fair Park. Haven’t figured out downtown Fort Worth yet.
