I was just reading that some local organizations, including the Greater Denton Arts Council, are closing early today due to the impending ice storm of the century. If you are an organization that is closing early today or if you have an event going on tonight or tomorrow that you are canceling, shoot me an e-mail and I will let people know in this space. Happy sledding.

UPDATE: The Women’s Museum will be closed today and the museum’s Children’s Reading Corner program scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. has also been canceled.

UPDATE: The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will close at 3 p.m. today. All afternoon and evening classes at Casa Manana are canceled.

UPDATE: This in from Denton Community Theatre — Due to the dire weather forecasts for tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 27), ALL events scheduled at the Campus Theatre tonight are CANCELED. This includes auditions for Carousel, which have been re-scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, and the regular meeting of Play Readers of Denton. We hope this won’t inconvenience anyone, but we want everyone to stay warm, dry and safe this evening!
