Congratulations to Jacob Rasmussen, the winner of our Flickr Photo of the Week contest! Jacob is the second two-time winner of the contest, joining Sam Brown in that category. Jacob previously won the contest with this photo. He follows last week’s winner, Chris Cast.

If you would like to participate, all you need to do is upload your photo to to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took previous to the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves another facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.

Now, here’s Jacob:

Title: Quitter
Equipment: Canon Rebel XT (350D) with a Quantaray 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5 lens
Tell us more about your photo: One of my New Year’s resolutions was to quit smoking. It’s been hard so far, so one way I’ve been dealing with it has been to take more photos. Whenever I feel a craving, I go out shooting instead and I usually forget it. On one particular night, I had to stay in, so I took this shot to symbolize my “quitting”.

Cool photo! Keep it up, Jacob! That’s a great motto: more photos, less smoking!

  • Nice shot & meaningful shot. GJ man! A few friends stopped smoking last year and they are still smoke-free.. if these bloaks can do it, you certainly can.
