It was Art Conspiracy Eve in North Texas. I visited the chilly warehouse at 3011 Gulden Lane in Dallas Friday where the festivities will take place tonight.

Erica Felicella, Art Coordinator of Art Conspiracy

The first shift of artists were at work on their pieces, which will be auctioned off in waves between musical acts. Technically, they only have the duration of the shift (2 to 3 hours) to create a masterpiece; and that, kids, is what we call guerilla-style art work.

Paul Slavens, host of KERA Radio’s Sunday night music show, is the night’s emcee, and proceeds go to a very worthy cause called Preservation LINK, an organization that creates programs for teaching media skills to kids. There will be three bars. There will be big video projections. The whole place will be transformed from the wee glimpse I offer you here. There were seven puppies there this morning but they won’t be there Saturday night, so cat people need not fear.
