In this episode of Think, Nancy Nasher and Jed Morse, acting director of the Nasher Sculpture Center, discuss how the museum’s collection came together. Then later in the program, Booker T. Washington band leader Roger Boykin discusses the South Dallas Pop Festival of 1970.
Think airs on Friday at 7:30 p.m. on KERA (Channel 13). It airs again Wednesday at 1:30 a.m.
UPDATE 12:30 p.m. from Anne Bothwell: This exhibit is wonderful because it provides a window into the creation of Ray and Patsy Nasher’s collection. All of the pieces are from the Nasher home, and the stories Nancy Nasher shares with Krys Boyd about growing up around great art, and the artists who made it, are priceless. The Art&Seek staff enjoyed our tour of the show, and one of us was especially thrilled to see Clamdigger up close. And guest blogger Gail Sachson says the museum’s new video about the exhibit makes you feel like you’re part of the family.
