Brad Kuhl

Brad Kuhl collects his imagery form television and movies, switching from channel to channel and movie to movie hunting for specific types of images. Kuhl is interested in “looking at television, not watching it”. Kuhl compiles his images into both printed and animated grids of images. Each moving image or grid is made up of smaller scenes – people on the phone – or a specific set of images.

About the artist

Brad Kuhl grew up in Miami, Florida where he was heavily influenced by the vibrant lifestyle and fusion of cultures. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornell University in 2005, and his Master of Fine arts in Photography from Arizona State University in 2008. He has participated in a number of group shows as well as two solo shows, and is a frequent collaborator with Monique Leyton. Currently Kuhl is preparing to move to Japan, where he will continue working as an artist and teach English.
