I heard a local events calendar recited this morning and would appreciate mention of the University Park Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Club program when this again occurs. Is this the venue to which to submit this information?

“The University Park Public Library announces its 2008 Summer Reading Club schedule from May 31st to July 12th. All children, read-to-mes and readers, are are encouraged to participate. First day registration is Saturday, May 31st, 10am-5pm, in the hall outside the library and, thereafter, during regular hours at the Circulation counter. The Grand Finale Party will include a hula-hoop contest with a DJ playing ’50s tunes to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Texas’ Reading clubs.

    • Hi Carla,
We’re launching a new Web site, artandseek.org next week. You, and all arts groups and venues, can contribute info about events to the Art&Seek calendar on this new site. We choose what to highlight on Gini Mascorro’s daily Art&Seek reports from these submissions.

It’s an easy process: You’ll need to create an organization profile for the library, if you don’t have one yet. Do that at https://www.artandseek.org/addus. Then submit each of your events using the form at https://www.artandseek.org/submit.php (If you have more than a couple events, we can show you how to upload them.)

Cynthia Wildridge, our Art&Seek calendar coordinator, will be happy to answer any questions you have about this. [email protected] or 214.740.9220.
