 The organization of local artists, established in 2005, raises money for organizations that offer creative programming — raising money through an annual event that also provides a showcase for artists’ work. The first year, the event was held in the Texas Theater and raised $10,000 for the Dallas chapter of the Children’s Health Fund. Last December, it was an art auction held in the Club-Formerly-Known-as-the-Gypsy-Tearoom.

This is the first year that the Art Cons are going public with their selection process for a worthy, needy outfit. Which means you gotta apply. Trouble is, the deadline is tomorrow.
