That gorgeous Saturday afternoon last weekend was a perfect backdrop for La Reunion TX’s first annual tree carving. Seven artists, their crews, a bunch of curious bystanders, and dogs gathered to turn dead or dying trees on the 35-acre property into art installations. (Pix above, and others, by Exec. Director Sarah Jane Semrad, are here.)
La Reunion is creating an artists residency program on the site. Next big date: March 1 at PanAmerican Art Projects, when the group shows entries from its international juried architecture contest – and announces the winning design.
