Bourbon is a painter interested in collecting images and manipulating them through the use of different sources, such as advertising, film and catalogs. The images become composite portraits he says that are of no one and everyone.  “These paintings depict people that arise half from the visual sources I use and half from the musings inside my head.”

Bourbon is an Associate Professor at the College of Visual Arts and Design, University of North Texas, Denton, Texas. Aside from doing reviews for KERA 90.1, he also writes for Art Forum Online, Flash Art, New York Arts Magazine and Artlies.
