Forever twenty steps ahead of the curve, Dallas’ Undermain Theatre presents the Dallas world premiere of Neil Young’s rock opera ‘Greendale.’ Described by the artist himself as a ‘musical novel,’ ‘Greendale’ often draws comparisons with Thornton Wilder’s ‘Our Town’ and Sherwood Anderson’s ‘Winesberg, Ohio’, with its portrayal of the ever-changing face of life in small-town America.
‘Greendale’ runs March 29 – May 3, 2008 and features a live band, an ensemble cast, and the socio-political musings of three generations of the Green family, who make their home in a small coastal California town. Originally released in 2003 as an album, ‘Greendale’ was voted one of the best of 2003 by Rolling Stone, spawning a film and a tour. A graphic novel will soon be available in bookstores.
