Purists may scoff, but I like the energy of artist David Garibaldi. He does large-scale paintings in a matter of minutes, such as this portrait of musician Carlos Santana done at center court during halftime of a Dallas Mavericks-Golden State Warriors game in Oakland last Thursday. Santana was even on hand to enjoy watching Garibaldi work to the strains of “Oye Como Va.”
