(Sam Fentress)Uptown’s venerable Afterimage Gallery is hosting a new exhibition from photographer Sam Fentress entitled “Bible Road: Signs of Faith in the American Landscape.” For more than a quarter-century, Fentress has chronicled simple expressions of religious fervor along highways and back roads across 49 states.

Fentress, who lives in St. Louis, has authored a collection of his work, including many photographs now on display at Afterimage. The photographer and his book were featured in a May 2007 interview with NPR’s Farai Chideya.

The exhibition will open with an appearance and book signing by Fentress this Saturday, Nov. 10 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the gallery, located in the Quadrangle at 2800 Routh Street. It runs through December 8.
